will ever know. i want to thank my own family. my wife, michelle was here with us until 2:00 in the morning, my parents, my brothers, of course. all of these people have been with me since 1999, when i first ran my cpaign for theity couil seat, when we walked up and down georgia avenue, where we are today. you cat thank your family enough in campaigns. they are not only the rock that keeps you going, but fill in the gaps on the campaign trail. thank all who have helped me in the campaigns. behind me are the current coordinators for fenty 2010. they are exactly what i have always had in campaigns, people who love washington, d.c., and understand that the way to make your city better is through public service, and not afraid to work extremely hard hours for almost no pay. f those who who have worked for me in campaigns, iill never be able to thank a of you. thank all the employees of the d.c. government, iingly be in city government for 106 more days, we have the hardest working, most competent government employees anywhere in the country. i saw it as a city council member, so enthusiastic to

. >> karen gray houston has been covering this race. she joins us to talk about it. thank you for coming in. it was a late night. >> yes. at 2:30. >> you were with the fenty camp last night and give me a sense of what they were feeling last night? do they have a sense of why things turned out the way they did? >> if you watched who was at the campaign headquarters, it was young campaign volunteers and workers. they were -- the average age was 25 or less. and so it was really -- i've covered a lot of the primary elections and general elections and you normally see people attached to your administration, there were a few of those there. people from outside of the government, civic groups, church and union leaders and none of those people were there. so that was a little bit unusual. did they get why it happened? i think what happened is people want to like their mayor and it had gotten to the point where he was not as likeable and they were used to. he had a couple of terms as a city counsel person who was mr. constituent. if you needed something, he would show up and try to get it for you. a

is celebrating a big upset in that state's u.s. senate race where tv commentator o'donnell upset mike castle in the republican primary. we we are going to take a closer look at the tea party elections tonight at 5:30. >>> now to breaking news out of prince george's county. right now we are keeping an eye on a police investigation in largo. we're told a 19-year-old man was shot in the 10,000 block of benington drive. investigators say she was shot in the chest. he was taken to the hospital and his condition is not yet known. we'll monitor the scene and bring you updates as soon as they come in. >>> the end of a mystery for a family from ohio whose son is left at arlington cemetery. there was question about whether he was buried in the right spot. we were with the family as their son's casket was exhumed today. eric joins us with the story. >> reporter: scott and melicca warner returned to a familiar site. the final resting place of their son. keith warner was killed in iraq in 2006. since the beginning of the summer, the government tells them they can't confirm he was buried in the right spot
